WAYNE & MARTA VOSI-IELL
CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY
MILFORD, DELAWARE
Pastor Wayne L. Voshell was born in Milford, Delaware on June 1, 1950. As a young child he was a
charter member of the Henderson Church of Christ in Christian Union, Sunday school. Reverend
Voshell and Maria were married on January 2Oth some 30+ years ago in Elkton, Maryland. As a
young couple they along with their two little daughters Lynn Marie, and Lisa Lee attended the
Hazeleteville Church of Christ in Christian Union, located in Hazeletville, Delaware, where Wayne
served as Sunday school superintendent and Maria served as a Sunday school teacher.
OnAugust 2501 1996, God blessed them with the first of four lovely grandchildren. She was named
Samantha Lynn Crowe-Voshell. In 1998 once again God smiled upon them and blessed them with a
grandson, Christian Hans. Two months later Justin Wayne Voshell came into the world. And finally in
2000, our Lord blessed them with another grandson Joshua Mark.
Wayne first served as assistant pastor for the Milford, Adlersgate Wesleyan Church. God began to
speak to Wayne’s heart about making the move to the Churches of Christ in Christian Union. He was
obedient to God’s direction for his life and ministry and rechanneled his efforts of ministry and study
to Christian Union, where he successfully completed the ordination requirements and reached the
level of ordained minister on August 11th, 2002. Wayne has after fifty years come full circle, back to
Milford, Delaware where he and wife Maria are serving as church planters. The mountains are high,
the valleys are many, and the victories are hard fought, but through it all they serve with you for their
loving Saviour.
MARILYN & GAYLEN ROA DES
M.AYSV!LLE CCCU
MAYSV!LLE, KENTUCKY
Marilyn and Gaylen Roades have assumed the pastorate at Maysville Church of Christ in Christian
Union (formerly Calvary Temple), effective July 1, 2003. The Roades were previously serving at the
Winchester CCCU since 1987. Gaylen was the ECY President there for fifteen years. Marilyn began
working at the Winchester Church in 1988 as church secretary. She later moved into the position of
Director of Lay Ministry and Pastoral Care, and also served as Youth Pastor and interim Children’s
Ministry
Director. In August, 2000, Marilyn completed studies and received ordination in the Churches of
Christ in Christian Union.
Prior to serving at the Winchester Church, Gaylen and Marilyn and their two sons, served on the
American Indian Field at the Southwest Indian School from 1982 to 1986 as approved volunteers.
They actually began ministry together at Fairview Community Church near West Union, Ohio in 1971
and served there for 10 1/2 years in youth ministry.
The Roades have been married for 35 years and have two sons, Michael and wife Susan, and
Matthew and wife Jennifer. They also have three grandchildren, Alexandra, Cole and Allison.
Marilyn shares the following from her heart: “We are constantly reminded that anything worth having
is worth working for. We believe that God has called us here and given us the challenge of
rebuilding His Church in Maysville, KY. Our attendance has not grown by leaps and bounds, but
God has been adding people all along the way. We were privileged to host a church extension
fundraiser that God blessed mightily. Because of the letters from Dr. Tipton that went out before and
after the fundraiser, God has not only raised up people who would support this project financially,
but almost on a weekly basis, we receive cards and phone calls telling of individuals and churches
who are supporting us in prayer.
On Sunday September 28th we had 52 in the morning service. That is always an encouragement to
the church family to see new people coming. We have a Friend Day planned for October 26th. We
are believing God for many new “friends” that day.
We don’t know all that God has planned for this church. We know His preferred future for Maysville
Church of Christ in Christian Union will be a great one!”
BRUCE & C/ND! ROLLAND
MERCY SEAT MINISTRIES
ORLANDO, FLORIDA
Pastor Bruce Rolland was born in Hubbard, Ohioan December 7, 1951. He is a graduate of Hubbard
High School and aftended Youngstown State University until he entered the Air Force in 1971. While
studying electronics at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, Bruce received his call to
ministry, even though he had not yet received salvation. That call came in 1976, after hearing the
testimony of a new convert to Christianity.
Bruce’s wife, Cindi, was born in Lake Milton, Ohio on December 16, 1958. She became a
Christian during a campmeeting at the age of 11. She began to sing with a gospel group, “The
Lost Then Found” and toured with the group for approximately 6 years.
Bruce and Cindi met in 1976 and married in August of 1977.
The first child, ha, was born on August 20, 1978. Dana, their second child was born September 4,
1980.
Bruce accepted his first preaching assignment in July 1984 at a small Free Methodist church. He
has been involved in pastoral ministry ever since. He and Cindi will celebrate their 20 years in
ministry next year.
Cindi has also taken steps toward ordination. Having taken courses through the Evangelical Church
Alliance, she applied for, and was granted a Local Minister’s License earlier this year with the CCCU.
The Rolland’s began their work at the Mercy Seat Ministry Center in August of 2000. Working as a
family in the ministry has made a huge difference in the structure of the church. Cindi and Dana are
very active in the selection of music and the framework of the worship service, while Tia is involved
in the children’s ministries. All three serve together as members of the church’s praise team.
The Mercy Seat is looking forward to the new year, planning a 501h anniversary for the church
building as well as the spring revival services.

He pastored Valley Chapel for eight years before they headed to the mission field. He served as the
Farata station manager, field treasurer, Nenibi Bible School director and field director on the island
of Papua New Guinea from 1968-1984. In 1984 they went to the Jackson, Ohio CCCU church where
they pastorS until 1993. At that time they moved to Cedar Street in New Boston, Ohio where they
pastored until 2001. They then returned to Jackson where they are currently pastoring the
revitalization ministry at Trinity Chapel.
God is truly blessing Trinity Chapel! When Bob and Sara first moved there, the church was

BILL & CYNDI HARGETT
CHRIST WAY COMMUNITY CHURCH
CARROLL, OHIO
Bill and Cyndi Hargett live in Lancaster, Ohio with their three children, Lacey-16, Sara-13, and
Cameron-lU. The Hargett’s have been married for 19 years.
Bill and Cyndi both attended Circleville Bible College with Bill graduating in 1985 and then continuing
his education to earn a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Bill has worked in this field
over the last 16 years.
Bill and Cyndi felt the call to church planting about 3 % years ago and pursued that calling by
attending a Church Planting Assessment Center and a Church Planting Boot Camp. They have
worked over the recent years with in-home Bible study groups and actively began recruiting core
team members about 1 1/2 years ago. They currently have approximately 40 on their launch team.
Christ Way Community Church launched public services on September 14, 2003. Nearly 100 people
attended the first service. PRAISE THE LORD! Many family and friends of the launch team attended
to support this new ministry. However, over the last couple of weeks, God continues to bless with
approximately 25 visitors each week. God is truly blessing this new endeavor as the Hargett family,
along with the dedicated work of their launch team, strive to bring in unchurched people of their
community and lead them into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
The church provides nursery and preschool classes throughout each service, and an elementary
age children’s ministry during the teaching time of each service except for the last Sunday of the
month.
The church meets in the Carroll Elementary School. The team completely sets up and tears down
everything from chairs, sound equipment, and children’s classes to the refreshment center and
directional signs outside.
Please pray that God would continue to bless the team as they work, so that they would not get
weary, and also that He would continue drawing souls to Himself through the ministry of Christ Way
Community Church.
